Title Anopheles head turning
Description Larva of an Anopheles sp., about 8 mm long. Found in a pond in Munich, Germany, in June 2007. Typical are the greenish color and a resting position parallel to the water surface. Anopheles larvae can turn their head 180 to feed on particles floating at the water surface. This behavior is shown in this 30 second movie.
