Introduction

Kondakovia nigmatullini is a recently described species found in sub-Antartic waters.  The two individuals of the type series were taken on the Patagonian slope at depths of 401-1404 m.

  1. Tentacles
    1. Tentacular club with about 23-27 hooks and two complete series of marginal suckers.

  2. Mantle
    1. Mantle skin with reticulate structure in young individuals.  Adults unknown.

  3. Gladius
    1. Gladius not visible beneath skin in dorsal midline.
    2. Gladius rostrum 9-14% GL, with triangular cross-section.
