Holotype, allotype, and "morphotype," National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution, Washington D.C. 81291 (male I, female, male II); paratypes, National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution, Washington D.C., Museum of Comparative Zoology, Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, Charleston Museum, South Carolina, Department of Zoology, Tulane University, New Orleans, Louisiana, Department of Zoology, University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida (now in National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution, Washington D.C. and Bureau of Marine Research, St. Petersburg, Florida).

Type Locality

Small spring flowing into the Suwannee River at Branford, Suwannee County, Florida (Sec. 16, T. 6S, R. 14E).

Range

From Santa Rosa County, eastward to the Suwannee River drainage system in Florida.

Habitat

Clear streams and springs.
