Introduction
Nitiglymmius is a small subgenus with seven species found in New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and the Philippines. Most species are found at high altitudes.
Characteristics
The eyes are reduced, the wings are vestigial, and antennal stylet and basal setae are absent. The clypeal setae are absent. The medial angles of the temporal lobes are simple, without translucent areas. The eye is small, without visible facets, but with an internal reflecting disc at an oblique angle with the surface. The female's lateral pits on sternum IV are enlarged. The spur of the middle tibia is curved. The ventral surface is opalescent.
