Introduction
Euschemon rafflesia is a large, brightly-colored Australian skipper with a feature unique in Hesperiidae: a frenulum and retinaculum joining the fore- and hindwing together. A similar structure is found in various moth groups.
Discussion of Phylogenetic Relationships
The combined analysis of Warren et al. (2009) implies that Euschemon is the sister taxon to all other skippers except Coeliadinae.References
