Introduction
The leaf butterflies of the genus Kallima are remarkable mimics of dead leaves. The wing venation and banding patterns on the ventral surface bear an uncanny resemblance to the veins of a dead leaf. The evolution of these patterns has been discussed by Nijhout (1991).
