Scientific Name Myiopagis subplacens
Location Chaparrí Lodge, Chaparrí Private Conservation Area, Lambayeque, Peru
Comments Another handsome flycatcher. These are common in the northwest in dry forest and tall scrub up to 1800m, although we only encountered a couple at Chaparrí. Our guide Rudy Gelis ( www.plumaverdetours.com/ ) would never forgive me if I didn't include at least 100 photos from his favourite family, the Tyrant Flycatchers (did I mention there are 100's of flycatcher species in Peru? Most of these are pretty similar, and a real nightmare to separate for the novice).

This page is a Tree of Life Leaf Page.

Each ToL leaf page provides a synopsis of the characteristics of a group of organisms representing a leaf at the tip of the Tree of Life. The major distinction between a leaf and a branch of the Tree of Life is that a leaf cannot generally be further subdivided into subgroups representing distinct genetic lineages.

For a more detailed explanation of the different ToL page types, have a look at the Structure of the Tree of Life page.
