The species is described from eight male specimens from the Napo - Pastaza region of Ecuador. The female is unknown.
Holotype
The holotype is deposited in the Smitsonian Institution. Locality data: Ecuador: Pastaza, km 25 Puyo-Tena rd., 1000 m, 11 Oct. 1988, leg. GW Busby.
