Characteristics
Brachoria virginia individuals are about 45.5 mm long and 10.6 mm wide (females 48.2 mm X 12.2 mm). Color: 2-spotted red (shown above) or orange; and 3-spotted yellow (shown above).

Habitat
Brachoria virginia specimens were collected during the day (11:00) in a forest predominately comprising maple trees. Individuals were found beneath layers of decomposing leaf material near Ketron Branch, within about 5 m from the water. No other xystodesmids were encountered sympatrically at this locality. Note: Individuals of B. virginia may be confused in the field with Apheloria virginiensis corrugata due to similarity in color patterns and overlap in distribution.Distribution
Known only from the type locality in Scott Co., Virginia. The closest known Brachoria species, B. mendota, occurs about 10.5 air km north on Clinch Mountain in the town of Mendota, Washington County, Virginia.Conservation status
Brachoria virginia is threatened by habitat loss due to agriculture (especially growing demand for paper products), coal mining, development, and the invasion of exotic species.References
