Introduction
An extremely diverse African genus. Most of the species are endemic to the Cape region of South Africa. Larvae feed on Lamiaceae and Verbenaceae in early instars, and then are taken into ant nests, where they are tended by the ants, consuming ant larvae and pupae, until they pupate (Larsen 2005).
