This tree diagram shows the relationships between several groups of organisms.
The root of the current tree connects the organisms featured in this tree to their containing group and the rest of the Tree of Life. The basal branching point in the tree represents the ancestor of the other groups in the tree. This ancestor diversified over time into several descendent subgroups, which are represented as internal nodes and terminal taxa to the right.

Taractrocerini is an Australasian group, whose westernmost exemplars reach Pakistan and Sri Lanka, and whose center of diversity is New Guinea. Larvae feed on grasses and other monocots.
de Jong (2008) lists the following characters for the members of this tribe:
- presence of a long thin tuft of hairs at the base of the costa of the hindwing fitting into a groove on the underside of the forewing under the radius
- strongly simplified male genitalia, lacking a gnathos and with valvae not subdivided into discrete parts
The tree is based on the phylogenetic analysis of Warren et al. (2009), with the positions of genera not sampled by them hypothesized based on the discussion in de Jong and Treadaway (2007) and de Jong (2008). The character uniting Banta, Kobrona, Mimene and Sabera is presence of antennae which are longer than half the costa, with as many segments of the nudum on the club as on the apiculus.
