Thauria aliris
the Tufted Jungle Glory
Andrew V. Z. BrowerIntroduction
A monotypic southeast Asian genus, ranging from Burma to Borneo. The butterflies are large and brightly colored on the dorsal surface, with a transverse white stripe in the forewing and a broad yellow margin on the hindwing. Ventral wing surfaces look like dead leaves, and allow the butterflies to blend into the leaf litter on the forest floor.References
