Introduction

Lyces cruciata replaces Lyces annulata in Costa Rica and Panama. Larvae have been reared from Passiflora menispermifolia.

Characteristics

Members of the clade of Lyces aurimutua, L. annulata, L. cruciata, L. minuta and L. tamara are recognizable by abdominal markings: they share a lateral orange stripe and a dorsal transverse orange band on A1.
