Introduction
Mycalesis is a widespread east Asian genus, ranging from India to Australia. Many species exhibit seasonal polyphenism, with very different-looking wet and dry season forms. This has made the taxonomy of the group tricky, with many synonymies.
Discussion of Phylogenetic Relationships
Vane-Wright and de Jong (2003) have elevated the "Mycalesis species endemic to Sulawesi to the genus Lohora Moore, 1880, which was formerly viewed as a junior synonym of the former.Other Names for Mycalesis
