Introduction

According to Vane-Wright and de Jong (2003), the four species are each endemic to a different group of islands: S. idamis to Sumatra, S. murayamai to Luzon and Mindanao, S. sulawesiana to Sulawesi, and S. amarylde to New Guinea (the latter is not mentioned in Parsons (1999).
