Introduction
A widespread, geographically variable species, ranging from Mexico to northern Argentina. This species is frequently but incorrectly referred to as "Taygetis andromeda."
Nomenclature
As noted, this species has been referred to by many authors as "Taygetis andromeda" (Cramer, 1776), but that name is a primary junior homonym of Cithaerias andromeda (Fabricius, 1775) (both originally described in Papilio).Other Names for Taygetis laches described in Papilio
