Miller (2009) indicated the following features as diagnostic of Momonipta:
- labial palpi short, thin and porrect
- large, bulging eyes
- antennameres with two transverse setal whorls on short processes
- wings broad, males exhibiting stridulatory organs
- genitalia with structures unique to Dioptinae
Discussion of Phylogenetic Relationships
Described as a genus of Geometridae by Warren, Momonipta was transferred to Dioptinae by Prout (1918).References
